Brand: DMC

Description

Bring dynamic, self-patterning life to your textile art with DMC Mouliné Color Variations Embroidery Thread. Made from premium 100% Egyptian long-staple cotton, this innovative variegated embroidery floss weaves a beautiful palette of three to four complementary shades from the same colour family into a single strand. The multi-coloured hues transition seamlessly and gradually every 10 cm, allowing you to create beautiful, flowing gradients and delicate tonal patterns effortlessly without ever switching your thread.

Whether you are looking for high-quality variegated cross-stitch thread or premium DMC multi-coloured floss to add depth to modern hand embroidery, the Color Variations range delivers an exceptional, over-dyed blending effect and professional finish.

Product Features

Seamless Tonal Over-Dyed Flow: Features a carefully curated sequence of blending shades that shift gently along a continuous line for low-contrast, sophisticated color play.
Separable 6-Strand Skein: Contains six easily divisible size-25 strands, allowing you to quickly customise your thread thickness for fine details, line work, or bold decorative fills.
Double-Mercerised & Colorfast: Engineered with premium fade-resistant textile dyes and double-mercerised for an exceptional, silky sheen that won’t bleed or fade over time, even when washed up to 60°C.

Specifications

Brand: DMC Mouliné Color Variations (Art 417F)
Length: 8 metres (8.7 yards) per skein
Material & Thread Size: 100% Egyptian Cotton | Size 25 divisible thread
Care Instructions: 100% Colorfast; machine washable up to 60°C (140°F); iron on low from the reverse side.

Pro-Stitching Tip for Variegated Thread

Because the colour transitions on Mouliné Color Variations shift gradually, your stitching technique alters the final aesthetic. For a highly controlled, intricate pattern with distinct over-dyed details, complete each cross-stitch one by one (the English method). If you prefer a smoother, watercolor-like or striped look, work in rows of half-stitches before turning back to complete the crosses (the Danish method).
